Lamps.com Review

A lamp can really help tie a room's decor together.  Lamps.com is a company that set our to revolutionize the online lighting industry. Their goals were simple - bring the service, knowledge, and dedication that you'd find in your local lighting showroom to their web customers. The company offers what seems like a never-ending amount of choices, with hundreds of styles available for each type of lamp. Their lighting options include everything from floor to table lamps, ceiling lights, wall lights, ceiling fans, outdoor lights, and even LED lights.

Review:  I received an Minka-Lavery Ambience Stone Mosaic Table Lamp in Dark Stone with Nickel (12395-0) to review.  The lamp is quite large at 33" x 16" dimensions. It arrived in two separate boxes, one for the base and one for the shade. I am beginning to think my mailman hates me because my boxes have been arriving quite damaged lately as was the case with these boxes. Although the pieces were pretty well wrapped, the shade ended up with a dent that I was able to put in the back to hide. There were also small scuff marks on the mosaic stones. I would recommend that the company marks the boxes as fragile to hopefully encourage delivery persons to be more cautious. 

The lamp itself was quite pretty. I really loved the descending sizes of the mosaic balls on the base of the lamp. It made for a very interesting look. The mosaic looked quite nice in the day time but looked especially attractive in the evening when the light from the bulb hit it. My husband was not a fan of the shade, but I like the retro look of it. I found the circular shapes in the base mixed with the rounded shade to be a perfect fit.

I placed the lamp in a small extension area of my living room that never before had a lamp. I put an energy efficient light bulb in it, sat back, and enjoyed the ambiance created by the lamp.  I as amazed at how adding one lamp can breath new life into this area of my house. I used to consider this section of my living room as extra area for people to sit when there was no more room in the main part. Now it is a sitting area with appeal!
