Best Price Nutrition is an online retailer with expertise in bodybuilding supplements, vitamins and fitness.. They have been online for over 5 years and also have 4 retail stores in the Chicagoland area.  I was given several samples of their dietary supplements to try out.

Irwin Naturals: Power to Sleep PM

I would love to say that one of my New Year's resolutions is to get more sleep. I have a terrible time falling asleep and have been relying on melatonin for some time to help. Power to Sleep PM contains valerian and other botanicals aimed at increasing relaxation, melatonin to promote and maintain a healthy sleep cycle, and ashwagandha and other minerals added to target overall health and nourishment. The directions are to take two soft-gels 30 minutes before bedtime. I found that they worked as well as the melatonin I have been taking for some time. I did not feel hung-over or groggy the next day and was able to sleep through the night. I was a bit shocked at the sheer size of the capsules, however. If you are someone that has trouble swallowing pills you may be dissuaded from trying these (see picture).

Syntrax Fyre
Syntrax Fyre is an all-natural dietary supplement which supports your metabolism to optimize weight loss. Ingredients include: velvet bean extract, coffee bean extract, green tea leaf extract, coleus forskohlii leaf extract,   barberry bark extract, ginger root extract, bergenia root extract, and natural yohimbine. These pills were also on the large size. For maximum effectiveness, you need to take 1-2 pills 30-60 minutes before a meal 1-3 times a day.  I have trouble remembering to take morning medications, so taking one a day was all I was able to remember to do. I was only given a small sample so I am unable to account for its effectiveness, but I can say that the supplement caused no negative effects on me.  Sytrax Fyre is available for $29.96 through Best Price Nutrition, a savings of $19.99 off the retail price.

Gaspari Nutrition Mitotropin
This dietary supplement is deigned to increase your resting metabolic rate. The company also claims that it can increase mental focus, clarity and cognition. Contents include: N-Acetyl L-Carnitine, Flax Seed Powder, Undaria Pinnatifida Extract, Grape Seed Extract , Capsicum Annum Extract, 3,3' diiodo-l-thyronine, 3,5-diiodo-l-thyronine. Thermophoric Lypolytic Acceleration Blend: L-Tyrosine, beta-Phenylethylamine, Green Tea Extract, Caffeine Anhydrous USP, Green Coffee Bean Extract, Hordenine, Evodia rutaecarpa Extract, Synephrine, DL-Phenylalanine, Ginko Biloba Extract, Uncaria Rhynchophylla, Sinofranchetia Chinesis, Huperzine-A. Free Radical Attenuation Matrix: Turmeric (Curcuma Longa)(Root), Artichoke Extract, D-alpha-tocopherol, L-SE- Methylselenocysteine. M.T. Peak Condition Factor: Peak Condition Factor Complex: Ammonium Chloride Powder, Dandelion Leaf 4:1 Extract (Taraxacum Officinale), Uva ursi Extract, 8-bromotheophylline.  The product should only be used for 30 days as a pre-contest physique repartitioning compound and it can take 5-7 days to achieve the full effects. You need to take 6 pills a day. I was given a 2 days supply so I did not notice any effects from this but noticed no negative effects either. The product is available through Best Price Nutrition for $36.99 for 180 pills, a savings of $33.00 off the retail price.

In fact, I found that on some days it gave me a bit too much energy and I felt a bit shaky and nervous. You can take 1-2 a day, and one was definitely enough for me.  I did find that it seemed to suppress my appetite as well. This product is available in a bottle of 45 for $29.99, a $30 savings.
